Artificial intelligence cloud services will now go to the front of the security certification line. The cloud security program known as FedRAMP will begin prioritizing certain AI cloud services for approval based on five criteria. The new focus comes at the behest of the Federal Chief Information Officers Council, which wrote an August 12 letter asking FedRAMP to focus on cloud services that provide access to conversational AI engines designed for routine and repeated use by federal workers. With that in mind, one of the new criteria is for AI tools where there is demand from at least five CFO…

Leaked ChatGPT chats reveal users sharing sensitive data, resumes, and seeking advice on mental health, exposing risks of oversharing with AI chatbots. When thousands of ChatGPT conversations appeared online in August 2025, many people assumed the leak was technical. Instead, the real issue was human behaviour combined with confusing product design. A now-removed feature that allowed users to “make chats discoverable” had turned private conversations into public webpages, indexed by search engines for anyone to find. Researchers at SafetyDetective analysed a dataset of 1,000 of these leaked conversations, totalling more than 43 million words. Their findings show that people are…

Cloudflare is the latest company impacted in a recent string of Salesloft Drift breaches, part of a supply-chain attack disclosed last week. The internet giant revealed on Tuesday that the attackers gained access to a Salesforce instance it uses for internal customer case management and customer support, which contained 104 Cloudflare API tokens. Cloudflare was notified of the breach on August 23, and it alerted impacted customers of the incident on September 2. Before informing customers of the attack, it also rotated all 104 Cloudflare platform-issued tokens exfiltrated during the breach, even though it has yet to discover any suspicious…
As part of the Hall of Fame series, Industrial Cyber has a chance to catch up with Bryson Bort, founder and CEO at SCYTHE, co-founder and organizer of ICS Village, and chairman and founder at GRIMM Cyber. He is a two-time CEO and three-time founder, having founded services, products, and non-profit companies. He is also an angel investor in several pre-seed and seed-stage startups. Whether as an author, instructor, or keynote speaker, as an Army veteran and cybersecurity leader who served on the nation’s front lines of cyber innovation, Bort has emerged as an inspiration whose rise from West Point…
The interconnectedness of modern business has never been more evident—or more vulnerable. Even casual readers can feel the scope and scale of recent high-profile cyberattacks on companies like LoanDepot and 23andMe, which have underscored the fragility of today’s supply chains and exposed critical vulnerabilities that cybercriminals are exploiting. As these supply chain-related attacks become more frequent and sophisticated, it’s clear that the traditional approaches to cybersecurity are no longer enough. In fact, a recent survey found that 91 percent of private- and public-sector organizations in North America experienced a software supply chain incident in the past year. If your organization wants to steer clear of…
, have worked with machine learning or large-scale data pipelines, chances are you’ve used some sort of queueing system. Queues let services talk to each other asynchronously: you send off work, don’t wait around, and let another system pick it up when ready. This is essential when your tasks aren’t instant — think long-running model training jobs, batch ETL pipelines, or even processing requests for LLMs that take minutes per query. So why am I writing this? I recently migrated a production queueing setup to RabbitMQ, ran into a bunch of bugs, and found that documentation was thin on the trickier parts.…
