Overview of the attack The credential stuffing campaign began with relatively low-volume probing activity, but quickly escalated on May 17, reaching a peak of 350,000 requests per 3-hour window. After DataDome’s mitigation was deployed, blocking rates spiked and remained consistently high, effectively neutralizing the attack even as it persisted.  Figure 1: Malicious login attempts per 3-hour window The attackers relied on a static, outdated Edge browser user-agent, repeated header signatures, and an unusually large pool of rotating IPs—common tactics used to mimic human traffic while testing stolen credentials at scale.

Find and Fix Risky NHIs Before Adversaries Exploit Them Analysts can use the dashboard to find high-risk non-human identities and close security gaps before adversaries take advantage. This may include, for example, privileged service accounts with inadequate password policies that could make it easy for adversaries to gain valid credentials. We have expanded the number of security checks for Entra ID and AD to identify excessive permissions and misconfigurations across service principals. These expanded checks spotlight risks like over-permissioned NHIs with unnecessary access to applications such as Microsoft Teams, which adversaries could exploit for lateral movement or data exfiltration. With…

Whenever I have the opportunity, I like to perform packet collection on a test for about five minutes so I can analyze the results and look for network-based opportunities to attack. However, on many engagements I find that I don’t have the opportunity inspect network traffic. This is because I either don’t want to install third-party software, doing so is prevented by a technical control, or that doing so is out of scope on the test. In this post I present NetworkRecon.ps1, a script that allows you to perform quick analysis to identify potentially vulnerable protocols visible by Windows client…

The vanilla ViT is problematic. If you take a look at the original ViT paper [1], you’ll notice that although this Deep Learning model proved to work extremely well, it requires hundreds of millions of labeled training images to achieve this.  Well, that’s a lot.  This requirement of an enormous amount of data is definitely a problem, and thus, we need a solution for that. Touvron et al. back in December 2020 brought an idea in their research paper titled “Training data-efficient image transformers & distillation through attention” [2] to make training a ViT model to be computationally much cheaper. The…

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a 30-day notice that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has submitted an Information Collection Request (ICR) to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval. The request seeks to extend the current data collection related to pipeline security incidents, apart from the contact details of designated cybersecurity coordinators and their alternates. Interested stakeholders have until July 2 to submit comments. To be most effective, comments should reach OMB within 30 days of the notice’s publication. In a Monday notice published in the Federal Register, the TSA is inviting comments to…

How to Protect Critical Infrastructure Today, While Securing Tomorrow The energy and utilities sectors must quickly find answers and respond to a vital question – how can we address the emerging cybersecurity challenges that threaten national (and international) operations and services? Organisations are under increasing pressure, as they are expected to deliver uninterrupted services and respond to regulatory demands. How can they balance demands to modernise legacy operations, increase sustainability, reduce costs to consumers, and defend against a growing list of cyberthreats? It is no surprise, given the nature of these IT and OT environments, that 52% of executives say…

Microsoft is testing a dedicated page in Windows Settings for quick machine recovery, which will provide users with additional configuration options. This new settings page can be found under System > Recovery, and it will help toggle the feature and choose how often the device looks for solutions and restarts. “This update makes it easier for you to manage recovery options directly from Settings, streamlining access to important features that help keep your device running smoothly,” said Microsoft’s Amanda Langowski and Brandon LeBlanc on Monday. “With the new settings page, you can easily check whether the feature is enabled, configure…

Brian King // On a recent webapp test, I got a little frustrated with all the extra HTTP requests showing up in my Burpsuite Proxy History from connections that Firefox was making on its own. I was having to scroll around way more than I used to while trying to make sense of the traffic. The last straw was this “detectportal” thing that seemed to be showing up every 60 seconds. I found some other Firefox users complaining about the same things, and I followed those steps, but they didn’t cover everything. I’m going to show you what I learned…

Paytient secured $40 million from Trinity Capital to expand its employer- or health plan-embedded cost-smoothing solutions to new markets. The company aims to expand these solutions — which enable patients to manage out-of-pocket healthcare costs over time, without interest or fees — into large group employer-sponsored plans, alternative health plans, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace and Medicare, Paytient said in a Tuesday (June 3) press release. The partnership with Trinity Capital will enable Paytient to scale faster and meet the demand from insurers and employers for solutions that help people manage the cost of care, Paytient founder and CEO…
