This guide is for early-stage Machine Learning practitioners who have just graduated from university and are now looking for full-time roles in the Machine Learning field. Most of the experiences shared here come from companies and universities based in the United States. Keep in mind that this is blog post is inspired by my personal journey, so not everything may apply to your specific case. Use your best judgment and enjoy the read. 🙂 , I had just completed my Master’s Degree in Physics of Complex Systems and Big Data at the University of Rome, graduating with full marks. My…
Cloud environments are evolving faster than many security teams can adapt. As hybrid, multi-cloud, edge, and SaaS adoption accelerates, organizations face fragmented systems, inconsistent controls, and widening attack surfaces. Threat detection is often delayed, tools are overwhelmed, and many defenses have become outdated, all while attackers are scaling and automating attacks. Check Point commissioned a survey of over 900 CISOs and IT decision-makers in early 2025 to understand how security leaders are responding. The results reveal real challenges – but also opportunities to level up cloud security. The following are six takeaways from this year’s report, as well as steps…
Critical flaw in Cisco ISE impacts cloud deployments on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Pierluigi Paganini June 05, 2025 Cisco fixed a critical flaw in the Identity Services Engine (ISE) that could allow unauthenticated attackers to conduct malicious actions. A vulnerability tracked as CVE-2025-20286 (CVSS score 9.9) in cloud deployments of Cisco ISE on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure allows unauthenticated remote attackers to access sensitive data, perform limited administrative actions, modify configurations, or disrupt services. The vulnerability in Cisco ISE cloud deployments occurs when the system generates identical credentials across different instances using the same…
In 2025, GenAI has moved from experimental to enterprise-critical — transforming how organizations innovate, operate, and protect data. We’ve entered a new age, one where technology isn’t just evolving—it’s transforming at warp speed. At the heart of this revolution lies generative AI (GenAI), a force rapidly reshaping organizations across every conceivable sector. While this transformative power offers unprecedented productivity gains, it also introduces a new era of complex risks. Our recent Palo Alto Networks report, “The State of Generative AI in 2025,” sheds light on major trends observed across over seven thousand Palo Alto Networks customers. The findings are clear:…
The German data protection authority (BfDI) has fined Vodafone GmbH, the telecommunications company’s German subsidiary, €45 million ($51.4 million) for privacy and security violations. “Due to malicious employees in partner agencies who broker contracts to customers on behalf of Vodafone, there had been fraud cases due to fictitious contracts or contract changes at the expense of customers, among other things,” BfDI said on Thursday. BfDI imposed a €15 million fine on Vodafone GmbH for failing to monitor partner agencies whose employees made unauthorized contract changes or tricked customers into signing fictitious contracts. The British multinational telecommunications company was hit with a second €30 million fine for authentication…
Conclusion Vulnerability analysis is not a one-time effort but a continuous process essential to maintaining a strong cybersecurity framework. Reuben states that through a structured approach of defining scope, scanning, and remediation, ethical hackers can effectively identify and address potential security gaps. He also acknowledges the role of CEH in significantly enhancing practitioners’ knowledge of attack vectors and defensive strategies. Moreover, he states that organizations need to conduct regular vulnerability assessments to reduce risks and protect assets and data. However, automated tools alone are not enough; managing false positives, interpreting results, and making informed decisions require human expertise. Reuben emphasizes…
EyeWitness is a handy tool developed by Chris Truncer for grabbing web browser screenshots from a list of URLs. Especially handy for pen-testers is its ability to create the list of target URLs from Nessus scan output files. Whenever I do a Nessus vulnerability scan against a client, I always run EyeWitness against the scan results. This is because Nessus reports all detected web servers as an informational finding and these can have vulnerabilities that are obvious to a human but hard for a scanner to detect. For example, one scan detected several web servers and listed the finding as informational.…
