Julio, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Julio Lemus and I’m from Guatemala, but am currently living in Panamá. I’m part of the Check Point team for LATAM, covering the territory of Panamá, Venezuela, and Honduras, working closely with both engineering and marketing. I’m passionate about technology, connecting with people, and sharing knowledge! I love collaborating with customers and partners to help them achieve success in their security projects.
What led to your decision to join Check Point?
Check Point has always represented innovation, leadership, and trust in cyber security. I was looking for a place where I could not only grow professionally, but also make a difference. I found that at Check Point — a company that allows me to contribute, learn, and be part of something bigger.
What is your current role and what does a typical day look like for you?
I’m a Sales Engineer for LATAM, working closely with customers and partners to design security architectures, provide technical guidance, and help deliver successful projects. Every day I face different challenges, from supporting complex implementations to building long-term trust with our clients. Additionally, I collaborate with our marketing team by creating technical content, hosting interviews, and participating in events to help share knowledge across the region.
What are you most proud of personally and professionally?
Professionally, I’m proud of building long-lasting relationships with customers and partners, helping them feel confident and secure with the solutions we implement. Personally, I’m proud of my family and of sharing my passion for running with my wife. Together, we’ve run the Chicago and New York marathons, and this year we are training for Berlin, with Boston on our list for next year!
What can we find you doing outside of work?
Outside of work, you’ll find me running — it’s a passion that I share with my wife. We love to challenge ourselves through marathon training and have already run two of the major marathons together. We’re constantly working toward new goals, with Berlin and Boston in sight. Besides running, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially with my baby boy Noah, Valentina my wife, and our dog Rocket.
