Context Protocol (MCP)? As a result of the emergence of AI agents and RAG-based applications in recent years, there’s an increasing demand for customizing Large Language Models (LLMs) by integrating with external resources (e.g. RAG-based systems) and tools (e.g. Agent-based systems). This enhances LLMs’ existing capabilities by incorporating external knowledge and enabling autonomous task execution. Model Context Protocol (MCP), first introduced in November 2024 by Anthropic, has grown in popularity as it offers a more coherent and consistent way to connect LLMs with external tools and resources, making it a compelling alternative to building custom API integrations for each use…
Owners of SinoTrack GPS devices should be aware of significant security weaknesses that could allow unauthorized individuals to track vehicles or even cut off their fuel remotely. These vulnerabilities, affecting all known SinoTrack devices and the SinoTrack IOT PC Platform, were recently brought to light by independent researcher Raúl Ignacio Cruz Jiménez. The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has issued an alert regarding these issues. What are the Risks? Two main problems have been identified. The first, labelled CVE-2025-5484, is a weak authentication flaw, which means that logging into the device’s management system is too easy. Every device…
The biggest threat to artificial intelligence (AI) in government isn’t hype – it’s inertia. As Federal agencies explore opportunities to integrate AI into mission operations and citizen service functions (alongside efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs), they face roadblocks: leadership gaps, legacy infrastructure, and cybersecurity risk management bottlenecks. A new study from MeriTalk, Tech Tonic: 2025 Federal CAIO Outlook, highlights a widening gap between ambition and execution. While AI use cases across government have doubled in the past year, many agencies are still stuck in pilot mode – hamstrung by limited authority, underfunded initiatives, and a narrow focus on governance.…

A flaw could allow recovery of the phone number associated with any Google account Pierluigi Paganini June 11, 2025 A vulnerability could allow recovery of the phone number associated with a Google account by carrying out a brute force attack. The security researcher who goes online with the moniker “brutecat” discovered that it is possible to brute force the phone number of any Google abusing an issue in the company’s account recovery feature. A now-deprecated, JavaScript-disabled version of Google’s username recovery page lacked anti-abuse protections. A few months ago, the researcher disabled JavaScript in his browser to test which Google…
Managed service providers (MSPs) are facing a pivotal moment. As businesses of all sizes continue to adopt cloud platforms, hybrid work models, and mobile-first strategies, MSPs are being tasked with delivering stronger, faster, and more comprehensive cyber security services, many times with fewer resources. To be successful, MSPs need more than just a collection of tools. They need unified, intelligent, and scalable platforms that simplify their operations and empower them to grow. Check Point’s new strategic partnership with Pax8 is helping to redefine how MSPs access, manage, and deliver world-class cyber security. Check Point’s Infinity Portal will now be available…
More than 20,000 malicious IP addresses and domains used by information-stealing malware were taken down during an international cybercrime crackdown led by INTERPOL. Called Operation Secure, the effort ran from January to April 2025 and involved law enforcement from 26 countries. Teams tracked down servers, mapped physical networks, and carried out targeted takedowns. Law enforcement seizing equipment (Source: INTERPOL) Before the operation began, INTERPOL worked with cybersecurity companies Group-IB, Kaspersky, and Trend Micro to create Cyber Activity Reports. These reports provided key intelligence to cyber teams across Asia. Thanks to the joint effort, 79% of the identified suspicious IP addresses…
