The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency would take less of a budget hit under an annual funding measure currently advancing in the House. The House Appropriations Committee’s homeland security subcommittee approved a fiscal 2026 spending bill on Monday that includes $2.7 billion for CISA, $134 million below the current year’s budget. However, that represents a far smaller cut to CISA than the $495 million cut proposed by the Trump administration. The House subcommittee’s fiscal 2026 homeland security spending bill includes $808.6 million for CISA for the “operation and improvement of cybersecurity defense technology and services for federal, state, local, tribal,…
Paragon Graphite Spyware used a zero-day exploit to hack at least two journalists’ iPhones Pierluigi Paganini June 12, 2025 Security researchers at Citizen Lab revealed that Paragon’s Graphite spyware can hack fully updated iPhones via zero-click attacks. Citizen Lab has confirmed that Paragon’s Graphite spyware was used to hack fully updated iPhones, targeting at least two journalists in Europe. The group found forensic evidence showing the phones had communicated with the same spyware server. Apple quietly alerted the victims earlier this year, marking the first confirmed case of Paragon’s tools being used in real-world attacks. On April 29, 2025, Apple…
A new study by BitSight TRACE shows that over 40,000 security cameras connected to the internet are openly available for anyone to see. These cameras, meant to keep us safe, are actually putting us at risk because they don’t have passwords or any protection. Bitsight first warned about this problem in 2023, and unfortunately, things haven’t gotten better. It’s surprisingly easy to access these cameras; usually, all you need is a regular web browser and the camera’s internet address. This means the 40,000 cameras found are likely just a small part of a much bigger issue. Where Are These Cameras…

We avoid tasks that are too hard. When we avoid them (consciously or unconsciously) the things we do instead are called “avoidance behaviors.” Adults and teachers alike demonstrate avoidance behavior when it comes to digital print. One of the main ways that parents can ensure their children learn to read is to demonstrate an interest in reading. This is done by reading around them. You can read anything, it doesn’t matter. Children imitate activities we enjoy and show them we enjoy. If we model avoidance behaviors when it comes to reading electronic texts, the children in our lives will be,…
Attackers took advantage of a Discord feature that lets expired or deleted invite links be reused, allowing them to hijack trusted community links and redirect users to harmful servers. The attack tricks users with a fake verification bot and phishing site that look like legitimate Discord servers, leading victims to unknowingly run harmful commands that download malware on their computer. The malware spreads quietly in multiple steps using popular, trusted services like GitHub and Pastebin to hide its activity and avoid detection. The attackers mainly target cryptocurrency users and aim to make money by stealing credentials and wallet information from…
