The GigaOm Radar for SSPM highlights several capabilities driving Falcon Shield’s leadership, such as complete SaaS visibility. GigaOm emphasizes Falcon Shield’s support of over 175 prebuilt integrations, which enable continuous application discovery, integration mapping, and configuration monitoring across business-critical platforms. It also provides visibility into third-party risk and non-human identities: GigaOm highlights Falcon Shield’s ability to identify users with authorized third-party connections, evaluate permissions, and identify risks linked to human and non-human identities. When risks are identified, Falcon Shield provides real-time automated policy responses through CrowdStrike Falcon® Fusion SOAR. This may include actions like disabling users or revoking OAuth application…
A massive spike in brute-force attacks targeted Fortinet SSL VPNs earlier this month, followed by a switch to FortiManager, marked a deliberate shift in targeting that has historically preceded new vulnerability disclosures. The campaign, detected by threat monitoring platform GreyNoise, manifested in two waves, on August 3 and August 5, with the second wave pivoting to FortiManager targeting with a different TCP signature. As GreyNoise previously reported, such spikes in deliberate scanning and brute-forcing precede the disclosure of new security vulnerabilities 80% of the time. Often, such scans aim at enumerating exposed endpoints, evaluating their significance, and estimating their exploitation…

A U.S. federal judge rejected Tesla, SpaceX and X CEO Elon Musk’s attempt to throw out OpenAI’s claims that he waged a “years-long harassment campaign” against the company he helped start in 2015 and later left. In a Tuesday (Aug. 12) ruling, U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the Northern District of California said OpenAI’s allegations were strong enough to move forward, Reuters reported Wednesday (Aug. 13). OpenAI is suing Musk for allegedly harassing the company in public remarks, social media posts, legal actions and a “sham bid” to acquire its assets, the report said. Musk sued OpenAI and…
A surge in brute-force attacks on Fortinet products could signal a new vulnerability. A timeline shows a strong link between attack spikes and security flaws. An unusual surge in cyberattack activity against security products from Fortinet has put experts on alert. On August 3, 2025, researchers at cybersecurity firm GreyNoise detected a major spike in brute-force attacks, with over 780 unique IP addresses targeting Fortinet’s SSL VPNs in a single day. This discovery was revealed in a detailed research report shared with Hackread.com. For your information, a brute-force attack is when an attacker repeatedly tries to guess a username or…
Paper link: https://arxiv.org/abs/2412.06769 Released: 9th of December 2024 Figure 1. The two reasoning modes of Coconut. In Language Mode (left), the model uses output text tokens as inputs for the next reasoning step. In Latent Mode (right), the model instead feeds its previous hidden state (the output of the last hidden layer) back into itself as input. Figure taken from [1] a high focus on LLMs with reasoning capabilities, and for a good reason. Reasoning enhances the LLMs’ power to tackle complex issues, fosters stronger generalization, and introduces an interpretable layer that sheds light on a model’s internal thought process.…
Even years after its release, Fortnite still stands as the online “battle royale” game of choice, with millions of younger gamers packing its servers every month—along with fair share of scammers who want to target them both in and out of the game. As to how all that plays out, that calls for a closer look at the game. What is Fortnite? Fortnite is player-versus-player game where up to 100 players fight…
When systems go dark and become unavailable, consumers and operators may feel frustration, panic, and anger. When there is disruption to energy and utilities that affects homes, businesses, and entire geographical regions, that darkness will spur emotional and logistical problems that bring processes to a halt. The CrowdStrike outage caused chaos at airports and other facilities—now, imagine the cascading consequences if every airport, phone network, hospital, and emergency dispatch center went dark. Energy and utilities are propelling modern civilization into the future and are a unique part of the micro and macro supply chain that includes billions of people, Fortune 500 global…
